Our crew, What The Funk?! Crew was initially formed to become the best popping crew in NJ. Now, since we have couple of our members living in various areas of the world, we are striving to be one of the best on the east coast to begin and finally the beat on the planet! Lol
But lets put that aside for now and let me reintroduce my crew mate and a brother, Takeshi "TKO" Shindo.
TKO is our youngest and the most shy crew mate in our crew lol
But his love and effort towards the dance has been consistent and he has grown so much since I first started to teach him how to dance.
Yesterday, we were fortunate enough to reunite and team up to battle in an All Styles Battle in Japan.
3 years ago, I would have never thought that we can team up to battle like we did yesterday.
We just met a day ago, had no routines, and you know Japanese dancers are amazing at routines lol, but we were able to go to the Semi-Final! :D
We were both very happy and excited as hell.
It felt great.
I'm so happy for TKO as a crew mate and as an elder brother.
Unfortunately, video taping was prohibited. So we have no footage of some of the great and fun battle we had. But as you can tell from our pic, we repped the crew and had a great time!!!
Peace and God Bless to all the dancers we got down with!

Official crew performance 2012
Our first performance at 1 year Anniversary of Takalaland Studio in Queens
We didn't get to rehearse much, but this is our first official performance that we actually got to perform in front of people.
Its been 3 years since we formed as a crew back in 2009.
We still need a lot of work and improvements.
But I'm just happy that on this day, we were once again together to share the floor.
Furthermore, it was exciting to see one of our youngest and active member, Ilya, to make it to Top 4 in the all style battle that was also held on the same day.
All of the crew mates were proud of his hard efforts and improvements within the past couple years.

Super Dope Funk Explosion 2
Photos and video clips!!!
Preliminary Poppin iLL (Watch it in HD)
Preliminary SUGALOO
Out of 40-50 popper's intense preliminary round (where the judges gave scores within 10 points to each poppers), SUGALOO passed the prelim with the highest score from the Judeges!
SUGALOO VS Jon Lock(NY) TOP 16
Watch this in HD, and watch Jon's second round......INSANE....
By the way, SUGALOO got too excited that he screamed for no reason before Jon's second round Good thing Poppin Todd screamed right after that to make SUGALOO look less weird lol
SUGALOO VS Mark Flux (D.C, Boston, LA) Top 8
The way he expresses the music is truly amazing. Not only does he have great technique but he is a great popper that can create "WTF?!" moments within his get down. Much respect.
SUGALOO and Poppin iLL had a great time during this event. We reunited and met with many poppers from all over the eastcoast.
The battle was on fire through out the event and it was VERY ORGANIZED. I think both of us did not complain at all.
We enjoyed getting down and represented What The Funk?! Crew to the fullest :)
